Engagement ring?

Posted: May 4th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Jewelry Questions | Tags: , | 12 Comments »

Hi, I’m planning to pop the question to my lovely girlfriend, I’ve been gently asking what type of ring she likes, out of all the ring types she prefers the ‘eternity’ type rings, they are lovely but I was wondering if this is acceptable for an engagement ring.

My Girlfiried likes this type >>>>>

Hope you can help

Kind Regards
Frankie :-)

Whatever you both want is acceptable, it is your engagement after all!
Such a lovely ring, your girlfriend has good taste :)

    Congratulations to you both.

If it’s what she wants and you can afford it, then of course it is suitable.

That ring will look fabulous with a plain wedding band. I think it is a very glamourous look.

eternity rings are generally the third ring bought and are for the birth of the first child. does she only like those? what about a trilogy ring?
at the end of the day do buy her what she would wear, no shame in proposing with a gumball ring and then taking her shopping for one or letting her pick it before Hand and then proposing later?

eternity rings are lovely!! but more like a wedding band or an eternity ring than an engagement ring… that said i am wearing a flattish ring that could pass for a wedding band or eternity ring of sorts (although its more flared than straight) but i love it

    It’s absolutely beautiful.
I would love it as an engagement ring, and since you already know she loves it- it sounds great.

Its all about what makes you and her happy. Ring doesn’t make a marriage. Its just a symbol

While the ring is very pretty, I would consider it more of a wedding band than an engagement ring.

I don’t really think there is an “acceptable” type of engagement ring. Its all up to personal preference.

If she loves that type of ring then go for it, It is a stunning ring and would look gorgeous with a plain platinum/white gold wedding band. (engrave something meaning full inside the wedding ring before the ceremony for a nice surprise)

    Good luck and best wishes!!

Technically, it would be considered a wedding band. My wedding band is full-circle diamonds like that.

But these days, anything can be an engagement ring as long as she loves it and it reflects who she is. Many people dont even buy diamonds for engagement rings. So the options are endless. This is a lovely ring. I say, go for it!

It’s lovely, but is more of a wedding or anniversary band.
For the engagement ring, there are some lovely three stone rings on that site, which would then match up nice with that band you showed for the wedding band.

If that is what she wants, that is fine.
BUT I would think she would want an engagement ring and an eternity band as her wedding ring. I see that combination alot.
